ROANE: – Archibald Roane was a teacher in Rockbridge Co., Va. He moved to Tennessee, where he became Judge of the Supreme Court and afterwards Governor of the state. He died in Nashville, 1831, aged 71 years. He married Mary Campbell, of Augusta Co., Va., whose parents were David Campbell and Mary Hamilton.
