Col. Robert Gamble, born in Augusta County, Virginia, September 3, 1754, married Catherine Grafton. He died April 12, 1810. He was the son of James Gamble, born 1729 ; who was the son of Robert Gamble of Londonderry, Ireland: (Cabells and Their Kin, Pages 250, 257-8).
